Our Voe True Shetland is an undyed yarn, spun in the natural colour of the fleece. The Shetland breed is hardy, often navigating dangerous Voe cliffs to reach the sea shore and eat seaweed in the ebb tide. The distinctive wool they produce is world renowned and was worn by Sir Edmund Hillary when conquering Everest in 1953. Exclusive and highly prized , Voe True Shetland is pure, natural, undyed virgin wool, hand graded and sorted by Island experts to give you the finest quality and the most authentic Shetland knitwear experience available.

Our knitwear can be dry cleaned, which is ultimately what we recommend.

If you prefer to wash at home, please hand wash only in cool to hand-warm water in a wool friendly detergent such as Woolite or Stergene (in the measurements specified on the bottle).

Dry flat and gently reshape whilst still damp.

Please note wool does not need to be washed as much, because it naturally resists odour, moisture and bacteria.

Favorite all purpose sweater

I have this color and the darker black/brown color. This is my favorite all purpose sweater. Never too hot, but keeps you warm in cold weather. Excellent.

Best deal going in sweaters

The Voe Shetlands from Bosie are my favorite sweaters. I have a lighter tan one and just got the grey. Of course, being natural and undyed, the colors have more depth and complexity than simple grey. They are delightfully warm. Bosie's service is impeccable, and these sweaters are a terrific value. I find them better than competitors' offerings costing twice as much.
